What to Pack for a Luxury Mountain Retreat (Every Season)

The golden rule: pack in three layers. A moisture-wicking base, an insulating mid-layer, and a weatherproof shell will carry you from breakfast on the terrace to a summit hike and back to the restaurant.

For dining, smart casual is our standard. Men will feel comfortable in chinos and a collared shirt; women in a simple dress or tailored separates. The cellar dinner is the one occasion where guests tend to dress up — a blazer or statement jewellery sets the tone.

Footwear is where most guests over-pack. You need exactly three pairs: a proper hiking boot (or ski boot in winter), a comfortable slip-on for the hotel and village, and one pair of smart shoes for evening.

We provide robes, slippers, and spa towels, so leave those at home. We also stock sunscreen, lip balm, and basic toiletries in every room — the altitude UV is stronger than most guests expect.
